Why Italy belongs on your kite list
Italy is a surprisingly complete European kite ground. Sardinia and Sicily (each with its own dedicated page) concentrate most of the Mediterranean kite scene. Lake Garda, with its Ora thermal blowing every afternoon April to October, is one of the world's best kite-foil and windsurf-freestyle destinations. Puglia (Punta Prosciutto, Torre San Giovanni) offers shallow lagoons and quality schools. The Tyrrhenian coast (Tuscany, Lazio) has more marginal but kitable spots. On top, Italy adds a rare bonus: food, historic villages, hospitality.
